The sound design and the musical nature of Le Monde Sombre adheres to the sensibilities of House, Bass and Techno – dark atmospherics abound. Conversely, many of the samples – some including sung vocals and World Percussion – give each audio set an aural ambiguity that allows them to be played with many other genres. Such flexibility is invaluable to the discerning DJ. The stems comprising the collection are written to a 4/4 time signature, with each element beautifully crafted and logically organised. This makes allowances for the DJ to play them individually or as an assembly of sounds that can accompany and compliment a main musical output. Each set can also be further remixed in a live performance or used as audio tools on the fly.
