FCN CampMed at UCLA strives to motivate, inspire and mentor high school students in the Los Angeles area, especially those with an interest in healthcare. Through a weekend camp, students have the opportunity to meet with college students, health professional students, doctors, dentists, nurses, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and more. In addition to guest speakers, students engage in hands on activities to learn the basics about CPR, ultrasound, suturing, phlebotomy, and dental impressions. Under the umbrella of Focus on Children Now (FCN), CampMed at UCLA is a non-profit organization that is led by students at UCLA. The overnight camp is hosted to students free of charge, and funded by grants and local fundraising efforts.
